We have never travelled on the Empire Builder before and I am here to report these trains need maintenance and proper cleaning. We always pay good money for a bedroom and expect it to be clean and things working. Everything was grubby, the loud speaker wasn't working in the room and the air conditioning vent in the ceiling was broken so we couldn't adjust the louvers. I had to sleep in the top bunk and the cold air blowing in my face was causing my asthma to flare up so OC Smith our attendant was more than accommodating and covered the vent with some cardboard and duct tape.
